Spats

BJJ Spats for NoGi and MMA

Spats are what NoGi grapplers live in. They protect your knees and shins from mat burn, give your partner less to grip when they hunt your legs, and keep you covered when your shorts ride up in a scramble. Porrada spats are squat proof, so they stay opaque when you sprawl, squat or play guard, and the compression fit moves with your hips instead of fighting them.

Bold Designs, Built to Last

Every pair is sublimated, so the design is dyed into the fabric and never cracks or peels. Choose from Mizu, Kaido Dragon, Mystical Lion, Tiger Spirit, Fujiyama Samurai, Croco or the clean Essential Black. Reinforced stitching holds up to years of guard work and leg lock battles.

Build Your NoGi Kit

Wear your spats alone or under fight shorts, and pair them with a matching rash guard for a full set. Looking for a women's cut? See our women's BJJ leggings.

Spats FAQ

What is your sizing like?

Our spats have a compression fit. Check our size chart to find your size, and if you are between two sizes, we recommend sizing up. Not sure? Email us at contact@porradafightwear.com and we will help you choose.

Why do BJJ players wear spats?

Spats protect your legs from mat burn and skin contact, reduce the grips your partner can get on your legs and keep you covered when shorts ride up during scrambles.

Are Porrada spats squat proof?

Yes. They are built for full coverage, so they stay opaque when you squat, sprawl or play guard.

Can I wear spats without shorts?

Many gyms allow it in NoGi class, while others and most tournaments expect shorts over spats. Check your gym's habits and your event's rulebook.
